Teresa G. Kemper, MA, CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
I graduated with a MA in Speech-Language Pathology from San Diego State University in 1998. My professional expertise has focused in the areas of pediatric communication disorders, specifically in early speech/language development and social-pragmatic development. I have practiced in a variety of settings, including California and Missouri pediatric hospitals and schools, as well as extensive work in specially designed facilities for children with autism spectrum disorders.
Eight years ago, I became aware of parent interest in receiving supplemental therapy during the summer and after-school hours---thus Kemper Communication was born. Since then, I have enjoyed providing services for a wide range of clientele through word-of-mouth referrals. Most recently, I have served as Clinical Instructor at the University of Central Missouri, teaching courses in language development/disorders, diagnostic principles, and autism. In addition, I am the Coordinator of Communication Services with the Midwest Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders at UCM. I have national certification (CCCs) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and license to practice in the states of Missouri and Kansas.
As the sole owner and operator of Kemper Communication, my clients and I enjoy the benefits of a small private therapy setting, which enables us to have a close working relationship, great flexibility, and low client cost.
I am eager to answer any questions you might have regarding your child's speech and language development. I count it a blessing to work with so many families who are committed to enhancing their child's communication skills. Whether you are wondering if your child is talking enough, worried because his/her speech is difficult to understand, are at a loss for helping with academic difficulties, or are facing the challenges associated with autism spectrum disorder, I am here to join the journey with you.
Together we can build skills and transform your child's life. Effective communication is the key.
